Don't take my word for it. Read the following endorsements, from some of my current and past clients.

Over the last 7 years I celebrated the completion of road races ranging from 5k to the marathon. I have always run for enjoyment and overall health, and thus was happy to cross the finish line with the knowledge that a stitch, an injury, or a mental block could take its toll (this and sometimes the weather!). I never considered myself a speedy runner and therefore the odd fast-paced training run I chalked up to perfect temperatures, a good night’s sleep, or eating the perfect combination that day particularly at the right time. I have marveled at the world greats abroad and at home including Paula Radcliffe, who I was privileged to meet and run with in a group prior to the London 2012 Olympics, and Lanni Marchant who was a school friend who I am happy to see is achieving such success that is so deserved! I took note though when ‘regular running’ friends or colleagues like Ryan Saunders were achieving faster times over a progressive period. I questioned whether there was a secret that I was missing and if I was capable of more – could I run a sub-1:50 half marathon? Might I be able to tackle Hamilton Harbour and the Northshore Boulevard hills in less than 3 hours? And finally, could I ever be quick enough to qualify and line up in Hopkinton as my aunt, my early running mentor, has on three occasions? Approaching Ryan for help with my running goals was the best decision. I realized how much physical and ‘research’ work has supplemented his training and why he has improved remarkably as we discussed the underlying physiology associated with different types of training runs, pacing, stretching, cross-training, recovery, and nutrition. We developed short and long-term goals and I committed myself to the first (of many) training programs he designed for me over the last 3-4 months. Despite an overseas move and the start of my postgraduate training as a physician, I already feel stronger. I am training on a day-to-day basis with well defined plans and goals in mind, I am setting lower times when it counts, and overall am taking better care of myself. Best of all is the flexibility as Ryan sets a weekly list that I work in with my other work and life obligations. I would highly recommend Ryan as a running coach and consultant for those wanting to challenge themselves to consider reaching their ‘unattainable’ goals.

“I started working with Ryan Saunders over a year ago and to say that my running ability has increased is an understatement. I raced in University (more than 10 years ago!) in short distances and after 3 children and some personal struggles I needed his support and expertise to fully immerse myself. Right Foot Running set up a personalized schedule for me to follow and adjust based on my needs that week. We spoke extensively on the phone and through email/text about my goals and my concerns. He takes everything into consideration including nutrition, fitness, job, weather, and any external or internal factors that could be affected by the training. Ryan himself is an elite runner and he knows what it takes to get you to where you want to be. For me, that was going from scared, fearful, and inexperienced to strong, confident, and award winning! On a personal note, he is a very good friend and his counselling didn't end at the fitness level. He was always encouraging my running spirit and providing me endless motivational quotes that helped me get my running shoes on day in and day out. I highly recommend anyone to work with Ryan from Right Foot Running whether you are just starting out or are an accomplished runner looking to fine tune your race."

“Ryan was able to meet my expectations and needs for my training of my 5km race.he prepared a plan that fit my hectic schedule and my level of running. Originally I wanted to prepare for a half marathon but due to health issues, I had to postpone my training. Ryan kept in touch with me, encouraging me while I recovered. He has good training plans for all types of runners, beginner to advanced, along with lots of important information regarding running shoes, fuel foods and exercises that help you recover.”

“Training with Ryan has gotten me further in my running than I ever thought possible. At first I was running a 10:1 program (10 min run, 1 min walk), but within 3 months, Ryan had me doing 5k non-stop!! This is a huge achievement for me. Ryan took the time to listen to what my goals were, and adjusted my training plan accordingly. He has been a great support throughout my training, and is always open to any ideas or thoughts that I might have. Ryan has been a constant resource for me, and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to training, nutrition, shoes or technical gear, and if he has not heard about it, he will look into it for you. No matter what your goal is, this is your guy!”

I started running with Ryan through a mutual friend in my running group and quickly developed a friendship. Through many training runs and races, Ryan began to notice a few things that could improve my performances. One of my long time goals was to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Ryan took me on as a client with the sole purpose to run a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon. Ryan set me up with a 16 week marathon training schedule with many training tips and videos for proper running technique and form. Upon completion of the 16 weeks training schedule I ran the Erie Marathon with a Boston Marathon qualifying time 3:24:06. Unfortunately with the larger then normal amount of runners registering for the 2014 Boston Marathon, the cut off time was 3:23:22 and I was denied access to the 2014 Boston Marathon. A few days after receiving the notice that I did not get accepted for the Boston Marathon, Ryan and I chatted and discussed a few things; where I could have improved, Pre race meal, pace and the amount of Gels taken during the race. It was from there that Ryan came up with a 6 week training schedule for the Road2Hope Marathon. He even offered to run with me to keep me on pace to improve my result time. I then registered and followed his schedule. I am happy to say that I ran the Road2Hope Marathon and with Ryan’s help I achieved a personal marathon best with a finishing time of 3:21:02! Although there are no guarantees in life, I am pretty much guaranteed to get accepted next year at 2015 Boston Marathon. Thank you so much Ryan and Right Foot Running. I could not have done it without you.
